The maximum basic daily fee for all aged care residents is 85% of the single basic Aged Pension daily payments,.which is currently $60.86 per day.

Based on your Income and Asset assessment, the Government may require you to contribute to your cost of care. The means-tested care fee will be different for each resident, and not everyone has to pay it. This is reviewed every three months. People who do not provide these details will be required to pay maximum fees for aged care services.

Based on your Income and Assets Assessment by Services Australia, you will fall into one of three categories.

• Supported residents – If your assets are less than $58,500.00 and your income is under the threshold, you’ll be fully supported by the Australian Government and won’t need to pay the accommodation payment. All you will pay is 85% of the single pension.
• Partially supported residents – Residents with assets between $58,500.00 – $197,735.20 are deemed to be partially supported by the Australian Government. As a partially supported resident you’re required to contribute to some of the costs of your accommodation.
• Unsupported residents – Residents with assets over $197,735.20 will be asked to pay the full Room Price which can be done in one of three ways

Depending on your income and assets you may be asked to pay an accommodation payment. If a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is payable, a resident has 3 payment options to choose from.
